GORE.
The Texas-based Quartet — vocalist Haley Roughton, guitarist Alex Reyes, bassist Devin Birchfield and Drummer Wills Weller — formed in 2023. Quickly, the band made waves with their emotionally raw and unapologetically vulnerable sound. The band uploaded two songs to YouTube and gained unexpected rapid response for their vulnerable lyrics and dynamic heavy sound. Fans racked up views and they were even given a seal of approval by established bands such as Motionless in White, Papa Roach, and Flyleaf. Their signing to Spinefarm Records further solidifies their footing in the industry as they continue to grow in stature and acclaim.
Their EP A Bud That Never Blooms was a deeply personal exploration of the complexities of femininity. “The goal of Gore. is to be very raw and vulnerable — emotional gore,” Roughton states. Embracing touchstones ranging from metalcore to nu-metal to shoegaze and even a bit of pop, Roughton’s cleans are delicate, while the raging harsh vocals have the fury to back up the fully-charged trio of Reyes, Birchfield and Weller that quake, riff, and blast.
Ultimately, Gore.'s music is an embrace of the raw, unfiltered aspects of life, particularly from a female perspective. Gore. is poised to continue challenging norms and expressing the full spectrum of feminine experience through their powerful sound.
